Robert Aderholt, Why can’t you adhere to the Constitution?

August 1st, 2008 by Will

Robert Aderholt,

Why have you yet again voted against the United States Constitution? Where in the Constitution does it say that we should be the policemen on the world? I would love it if you would answer my phone calls and emails to discuss this with me.
Today you have yet again voted against the Constitution in HR 1370.

H RES 1370 2/3 YEA-AND-NAY      30-Jul-2008      1:23 PM
QUESTION: On Motion to Suspend the Rules and Agree, as Amended
BILL TITLE: Calling on the Government of the People’s Republic of China to immediately end abuses of the human rights of its citizens, to cease repression of Tibetan and Uighur citizens, and to end its support for the Government of Sudan and Burma to ensure that the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games take place in an atmosphere of freedom.

Now, while I do not agree with China’s abuses of human rights toward their citizens and their support for Sudan and Burma, where does the constitution give our Congressmen the right to tell China to stop it? China is not a part of America, and has nothing to do with America besides economic relations.

If you really want China to stop their injustices against humanity, then the proper thing to do would be to induce heavy taxes against Chinese products being shipped into the United States. If American’s would stop buying their products, that would be an even larger message than some House Resolution telling them to stop.

Robert Aderholt, you ought to be ashamed of yourself.

Here is the list of those who voted. Ron Paul voted no, Dennis Kucinich only voted “Present”.
