WASHINGTON (AFP) – The US State Department announced plans on Monday to promote online youth groups as a new and powerful way to fight crime, political oppression and terrorism.
Drawing inspiration from a movement against FARC rebels in Colombia, the State Department is joining forces with Facebook, Google, MTV, Howcast and others in New York City next week to get the “ball rolling.”
It said 17 groups from South Africa, Britain and the Middle East which have an online presence like the “Million Voices Against the FARC” will attend a conference at Columbia University Law School from December 3-5.
Observers from seven organizations that do not have an online presence — such as groups from Iraq and Afghanistan — will attend. There will also be remote participants from Cuba.
They will forge an “Alliance of Youth Movement,” said James Glassman, under secretary of state for public diplomacy.
“The idea is put all these people together, share best practices, produce a manual that will be accessible online and in print to any group that wants to build a youth empowerment organization to push back against violence and oppression around the world,” he told reporters.
The conference will be streamed by MTV and Howcast, he said.
The list of organizations due to attend include the Burma Global Action Network, a human rights movement spurred into action by the ruling junta’s crackdown on monks and other pro-democracy protestors last year.
There is also Shabab 6 of April, which has emerged as Egypt’s largest pro-democracy youth group, and Invisible Children, which spotlights atrocities committed by the Lord’s Resistance Army in Uganda, Glassman said.
Others include Fight Back, which fights domestic violence in India, the Save Darfur Coalition, as well as One Million Voices Against Crime in South Africa, said Jared Cohen, from the secretary’s policy planning staff.
Also attending will be People’s March Against Knife Crime from Britain and Young Civilians from Turkey.
Cohen said Young Civilians is a human rights and pro-democracy organization which works online but has brought thousands of protestors into the streets of Turkey.
Glassman said the State Department is providing about 50,000 dollars in order to help bring delegates from the groups to the United States.
This is not looking good if you ask me. Along with the recent attacks against our dollar, freedom of speech, Internet, and the ushering of the New World Order, things are not looking good at all.
It is far time that a congressman really stands up to the Federal Reserve, and Dr. Ron Paul has been doing it for a long time now. However, he has really put Bernanke in a hard place publicly with his questions on what the Federal Reserve is really doing.
Just like Dr. Paul stated, and I’ve said over and over, a “New International World Reserve Currency” or in laymans terms “One World Currency” is coming. This is a bad thing, as this will be what ushers in the New World Order, and we as American Citizens will have lost our civil liberties.
This Saturday End The Fed.US will be holding protests at 39 Federal Reserve banks around the country. I am going to be attending the one in Birmingham. I hope that you will join us at one of your local Federal Reserve banks, because if we do not protest our voices will not be heard, but regardless without action they will continue in slaughtering our country until there is nothing left to slaughter.
This weekend the United States will be holding one of the most important summits of our lives. Bretton Woods II is an informal name for a Meeting of the G-20 Countries around the world, in an attempt to stabilize the manufactured economic crisis.
What do they believe will stabilize this economic crisis? Nothing short of a One World Currency and a New World Order, that has been a reoccurring phrase over the past few months from European Heads of State.
What we need to be doing is looking back at the real history, history that was hardly taught in your High School lessons. Looking at Thomas Jefferson, he had so many great quotes and these three are the ones we should be following at the footsteps of tyranny.
“Commerce with all nations, alliance with none, should be our motto.”
“Be polite to all, but intimate with few.”
“Banking establishments are more dangerous than standing armies.”
At the end of the day, just look at yourself in the mirror and ask “Will I die for what I believe in?” You’ll get your answer if you stand there long enough. A Revolution is coming, the government wants and expects it as it will be a form of population control. But the epiphany is that we will win, as long as we keep headstrong. Tyranny can not rule all, and soon people will realize it.
There is way too much information to cover since I last posted, but here is an overview.
Gold prices are beginning to fall, as is the stock market and oil. The Dollar is gaining ground on the British Pound and Euro. Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson stated that the US Treasury would not be using the 700 billion USD from the bailout package to buy up bad mortgages, and would instead be buying shares in banks in a poor attempt to liquidate the market.
Yes, you have read that right. Banks are already hoarding the money, buying other banks and not trying to liquidate the market. Now Paulson wants to just purchase shares in the company instead of buying the bad debt? See, giving that much power to the Treasury Secretary was a bad thing, especially when he was given 700 billion USD to use at his own disposal. We were promised transparency, however we did not and will not get it.
The USA is on the verge of losing it’s “AAA” rating due to the large amount of debt it has accrued, over 10 trillion USD. On our current course, there won’t be a way to repay this debt. With two wars, Federal Bailouts and talks of another stimulus package, how will we pay for it? More so, with Obama’s Health care policies, how will we pay for it when the country is already broke?
Then you have Rahm Emanuel and Barrack Obama in talks of a Domestic Draft, which has been scrubbed from Obama’s official website change.gov, basically stating that all Americans from 18 to 25 will be forced into working for the federal government for 3 months out of the year. Basically, Basic Training then either domestic police work or National Guard work. Is that right? NO!
I am wondering how many of these people who thought Obama was for ending the war and voted for him because of it will be protesting when their numbers are called to be serving in the draft. Just Sheep being led to the slaughter house.
I don’t know where I will be tomorrow. Everyone says this election will be historical, yet I don’t see it. I saw two men running with similar ideals and policies. Both are connected with the CFR and that is what will be the deadliest connection for them to have.
I am honestly unsure of how Obama will be able to pay for all of his socalist plans he wants to pass through the now Democratic Legislature, when America is bankrupt.
When will the American public wake up and see that voting for the lesser of two evils is still going to be voting for evil? Especially so when both of the candidates are playing for the same master? When are we going to realize that continually electing Democrats and Republicans is sending us down the road to a police state, and even worse the New World Order that George H.W. Bush promised in the 1990s?
May God have mercy when January 2009 rolls around and let us hope that we do not have another Vietnam or manufactured disaster on our hands. If we do, you can be sure that the Northern Command will be rolled out to be collecting the guns and sending you to bread lines in the FEMA camps.
May God have mercy when the people realise that they’ve been fooled into an American Holocaust.
There was a very interesting article in the OCT 22 Issue of the Tuscaloosa News. On the impending District Four election, Robert Aderholt is set up to regain his seat for a 6th term. While Aderholt has made wrong decisions in his 10 years in office, he did make one of his few correct ones back in September being the only Alabama Congressman to Vote NO on the Financial Sector Bail.
In the Tuscaloosa News Aderholt’s opposition, Nick Sparks, is stated as saying that Aderholt’s vote on the Bailout was “irresponsible” and that he “really doesn’t think Robert Aderholt sees the financial crisis and the mess we are in”.
Now, Mr. Sparks has rightfully criticized Aderholt on his 2005 vote for the Central American Free Trade Agreement (CAFTA) which did hurt the once mighty sock industry of District 4. However, Aderholt did the right thing by voting No against the bailout package. Why? Because Congress can not come up with a solution for a problem that took years to build up in just 2 weeks. The honest solution was to let the free market fix itself and have no governmental intervention.
Seems to me that Mr. Sparks has ponied up on Rep. Artur Davis’ side of the spectrum. I received an article from Rep. Davis (D7) late last week and was disgusted with the response to my simple questions. I will include the last few sentences from the reply.
“The ripple effects of a deterioration in the investment economy would also threaten the return rate and the very security of private pension and 401k plans.
I am hopeful that the vote I cast was the right one.”
Hopeful? The dow is down by over 5,000 points since the bailout package was signed by President George W. Bush. The Federal Reserve cut the interest rates, and it still did not improve the market place. To me, this is another ringing of the late 1920s when President Hoover tried to fix the market place. What happened? Well, that is a history lesson for a different day.
Biden recently made remarks about an International Crisis shortly after Barrack Obama takes office. I do not know about you, but where did the crystal ball come from? Just listening to his speech gives chills down my spine as I feel this is not and will not be a real crisis. It will be orchestratedjust as this financial crisis was. I have a feeling it’s going to be the world calling in their debts and lets face it, America is bankrupt.
I can “guarentee” it will occur. Fear mongering at the least.
I for one am disgusted by this, and I’ve been having my own feelings that our government has been overran by the corporation, that politicians are there to only make the person “feel” like they have a say in how their government works.
I really believe this was started because of the 1913 Federal Reserve act. Big Bankers came in, took their share of the pie and kept increasing it. This is why the buying power of the dollar sits at $0.04 of what it used to pre-1913.
The Federal Reserve lowered interest rates to 1.5% yesterday. This was supposed to calm the markets and make it “safer” for businesses to get loans. It was supposed to strengthen Wall Street, and apparently the Dow Jones industrial is still falling at a rapid pace. The Dow has plunged to a point of where it hasn’t been in 5 years. When will the government realise that what they have been doing is not working and just let the market work itself out. We are on the tip of a depression, orchestrated by the quasi public Federal Reserve, corporate lobbyists, and our corrupt government.
When will we as a country realise what is happening? I see it everyday. US troops are beginning to take the streets here in our own country. Why? Because when this gets very bad, there will be a cival uprising. For years the Federal Government has been trying to blur the line between a civil officer of the peace and a US Federal Soldier. There are reasons behind this and it pertains to the end game. What lies ahead of us is a choice, two paths in a road. One, a revolution, the other Tyranny. Which will you choose?
This has been a sad week, very sad indeed. The House rejected the first Bail out Plan, then Senate passes one and sends it to the house with 110 billion USD added pork. This some how caused over 50 Representatives to change their votes and enacted it’s passage. Absolutely disgusting.
I did my part this week, including contacting every Alabama Congressman demanding that they not vote for this bill. Not all Americans are idiotic, some of us actually read the bills and see the flaws in how it will hurt our country and ourselves.
We have now become morally and physically bankrupt as a country. What will we do about it? I say it’s time to stand up and fight. Some of these Congressmen are running unopposed or against weak candidates. I feel it is time to begin planning for 2010 and start filling out the pink slips for these Congressmen who have lost their way.
This Bailout Package will eventually cause more inflation upon the people, we have not seen anything yet. Congress should have left this “crisis” alone and let the free market take care of it. As it is now, there is no longer a free market. The government has thrown out the net to catch these failing banks in the most socialized form possible. America is no longer a capitalist nation, we have lost our way as the banks have effectively thrown our legislative process in the biggest coup de ‘eta we will ever see in our life times.
